Kevin De Bruyne (KDB) was the star of the show as his Manchester City side thumped Bournemouth 4-0 at home to move into top spot on the Premier League table. De Bruyne had an attacking return of a goal and an assist in the first half of the game.
For the Bournemouth game, KDB doubled the lead for City with a sublime goal one minute on the other side of the half-hour mark. The Premier League holders had earlier taken the lead through the goal from IlkayGundogan. Twelve minutes separated the first two City goals. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his players took a three-nil lead into the half-time break after Phil Fodenscored the third City goal with eight first half minutes left on the clock. City took their foot off the gas in the second half with the game won at the end of the first half. To this effect, they scored once in the second half with Ecuadorian star Jefferson Lerma putting the ball through his own net off a low Joao Cancelocross.
Manchester City were able to maintain their perfect start to the new league season with the big victory over Bournemouth. They started the season with the 2-0 away win over West Ham United before the 4-0 victory over the Cherries was recorded.
